Ronel Treuting - Core Club Room Volunteer

Blessed to be born and raised in Metairie with caring parents and 3 sisters, I have always felt that God, family and friends are important for a happy life. I excelled in math and science in school but was not sure which medical profession would be right for me until senior year high school. One of my closest friends had a cousin with severe cerebral palsy. I would help her babysit at times and took him to physical therapy sessions. This is when I knew I wanted to be a physical therapist and help people function to the best of their ability.

I graduated from LSU Medical Center Shreveport with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1987. I have been working as a physical therapist since and specialize with children since 2005. I am a private pediatric physical therapist and also work with Louisiana Early Steps. When I work with a child I become part of their family. I have learned just as much from the families as I have taught them.

I am married with 3 children. One of my twin boys was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was 22 months old. Prayer is what got all of us through his 2 years of chemo. With God, all things are possible!

I am happy to be part of Tricord Club and hope my experience as a physical therapist will help your children grow and function to God’s plan.
